ABSTRACT
My topic today is ‘Old Wine in new Bottles? Exploring MOOCs’. Let us first look at the context of higher education today and review the different developments that have emerged over the years to respond to the challenges of access, quality and costs. I will then look at the MOOC effect and will conclude with a review of implications that MOOCs have for transforming higher education especially in the developing world.
