I am a Biologist by training by the Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa – 1981) and a PhD in Education Sciences by the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL - 2005). I am currently Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT) UNL, both on Education Technology, e¬-Learning and Science Education, on masters and doctorate programs, and full researcher at UIED (Research Unit on Education and Development) on ICT on Education and Training, with published works both as author and co-author. Since 2007 I am head of the Laboratório de e-Learning (e-learning lab) at FCT. I have been involved in ICT in Education / e-Learning initiatives for the past 30 years.
I am also a founding member (1995) and the current president of EDUCOM – a teachers’ association on educational ICT, also collaborating with other non-governmental organizations.
