ABSTRACT
Desde que en 2002 emergiera el concepto de Recursos Educativos Abiertos (REA), Open Educational Resources (OER), en un foro organizado por la UNESCO, crear, compartir, utilizar, modificar y volver a compartir, junto con el uso de licencias libres como las de Creative Commons, son acciones cada vez más extendidas en relación con los recursos que se emplean en el mundo educativo. Revisando sucintamente el origen y evolución del concepto, nos centramos en la presencia y usabilidad de los REA en los institutos de Educación Secundaria, destacando algunos de los principales repositorios REA existentes en la actualidad y proponiendo un análisis reflexivo en base a preguntas, cuyas respuestas aportarían datos para definir posibles estrategias, las cuales podrían llevarse a cabo para aprovechar las bondades de los REA y maximizar su rentabilidad educativa para el fomento de la creatividad y labor docente del profesorado y la mejora del aprendizaje del alumnado.
