To support this activity, the Ministry has dedicated a one-time funding envelope of up to $8.5 million to the college and university sectors (as part of the $12 million dedicated in 2013-14 to the “Ontario Online” Initiative). The purpose of this fund is to allow participating institutions to develop or redesign a number of scalable, shared online courses that will eventually form part of a suite of flagship courses ready to be offered by participating institutions through “Ontario Online” by 2015-16.
