OER Knowledge CloudJournal ArticleLearning design and open educationLearning design and open educationConole, GrĂ¡inneLearning Design has emerged in the last fifteen years or so as a new methodology to help practitioners make more pedagogically informed design decisions that make appropriate use of digital technologies. In parallel we have seen the rise of the open education movement; first through the emergence of Open Educational Resources (OER) and then through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). OER and MOOCs are challenging existing educational offerings and have specific requirements in terms of their design. This paper will describe the current status of Learning Design research and will then articulate the 7Cs of Learning Design framework (and related Learning Design frameworks) and will consider how this can be used to design OER and MOOCs.20182018/10International Journal of Open Educational Resources111-18United Kingdom10.18278/ijoer.1.1.6https://www.ijoer.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/IJOER-VOL-1-No-1-2018-Learning-Design-and-Open-Education-by-Gr%C3%A1inne-Conole.pdfyes7Cs of Learning DesignLarnaca Declaration on Learning Designlearning designmassive open online courses (MOOCs)open educationOpen Educational Resources (OER)IJOER-VOL-1-No-1-2018-Learning-Design-and-Open-Education-by-GrĂ¡inne-Conole.pdfhttps://www.ijoer.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/IJOER-VOL-1-No-1-2018-Learning-Design-and-Open-Education-by-Gr%C3%A1inne-Conole.pdfUnited Kingdom, Europe
