%X	This chapter explains how the open access movement, open education resources (OER) that can be freely accessed, reused, modified and shared by anyone, and massive open online courses (MOOCs) which are aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the Web can play a crucial role in open and distance non-formal education. It describes how organizations, institutions and countries are collaborating in using these means to provide non-credit, employment creation and capacity-building programmes, the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies and methods and how and why they are now being locally generated.
